Teaming up with Salon Darrah!

I have joined forces with Salon Darrah's owner, Holly Darrah, to makeover the women of Houston!

Holly and I been friends and worked on each other for a while (she is a hair & make up artist, I a personal stylist).

Last week, we did two makeovers for the National Charity League and "wowed" the members with the reveal.   That was the launch of our collaboration to offer makeovers from head to toe!  We have already started on some clients from the NCL...and we thank the NCL as well as the ladies who have already called for consultations!

Below is a photo from the event!

My Grammy Fave

By far....my favorite Grammy's 2013 style was Beyonce's jumpsuit!

Being jumpsuit-obsessed, this was an easy choice for me.  I adore the b&w minimalist suit she wore, by Osman (London designer).

She looked gorgeous and it was an awesome jolt of individual style amidst all the dresses at the Grammy's.

What was your favorite look??

Spring Trend Event

My friend Elizabeth accompanied me to the Spring Trend Event at Neiman Marcus this week.  It was a great show!  We enjoyed watching the models show off the trends while we sipped champagne cocktails.

The trends they showcased were:
orange as a neutral
cool blues
mixed prints
warm weather leather
face framing necklaces
and more.....

I attended in my much loved cape dress. Felt like a 60's vibe...I kept the accessories to a minimum and all gold-statement necklace, a couple rings and that's it!

Handbag Crazy?

I am.  I texted my friend Elizabeth the other night and asked "So...how much is too much to pay for a handbag?"  Her response: "If it needs its own insurance policy, it's too damn much."  (gotta love E)

I was online at Neiman Marcus...mouth watering over Tom Ford and Prada bags. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but my budget is not 'rich'.  I can't afford to pay a couple (or a few) thousand dollars for a handbag. And, you don't have to...you just have to love it.  Some of my favorite bags cost less than $20 or $50...and I love them just the same.

Not sure what it is about a woman and her handbags; but there is a long standing love affair there. I have some that are full of personality, with textures and colors. I have some which are very prim and well adorned with simple hardware.  I love them all so very much, like little leather and velvet colorful children.

Our bags house our make up, money, keys, sinus meds, business cards, (earrings that were pinching us mid-day)...and we adore them for it.  Then there's the style statement: lady bags, rockstar bags, hippie bags, and old trusted bags.

J'adore handbags...and that won't end. Ever.  Two of my most carried bags are my neutral Coach bag and my Rachel Zoe hobo bag. (shown here)
If I'm going to run up a credit card bill which takes months to pay off....I'm pretty sure it'll be on a classic (Chanel quilted; a crisp Prada; Louis Vuitton classic logo).  Right now, I'm focused on making the world a nicer (and more stylish) place...with a beloved handbag on my arm!!

What are you craving???

Crave-worthy:Tom Ford, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel

Sexy Tomboy

One of my favorite 'moods' to sport is what I call sexy tomboy.   Today, I paired my pleated tomboy trousers cuffed up, with a denim button down (not so buttoned up) and silver pointy toe pumps.  It was an outfit suited for a Monday...a little casual, really comfy and some sexy shoes to boost my Monday blues...

Hope you all have a great (and stylish) week!

TGIF!

Finally Friday!  What a week it's been...(I won't bore you with the details).  If my outfits are indicative of one thing, it would be my mood, for sure.  Hum drum and busy, busy, busy!

Thankfully in Texas, the weather is mild. I can get away with comfy lightweight tees and leather leggings.

And b/c its sunny out, I get to sport my new sunglasses: leave it to Tom Ford to do a hybrid aviator-cat eye.  YES...metal cat eye glasses; the perfect combo for me.
I'm in L-O-V-E!

Happy Weekend!
